Wouldn't it be nice if one of these families just once said "Thank you so much for giving us all?
this benefit money?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2255203/20...
It comes from other families' pockets and yet none of them ever seem to be grateful....
What think you all?
Not living in UK , I don't get anything. If I did I would not be whining ,as they always seem to do ,that salaries are too low for them to get off of benefits and then continue to have more children for others to support.
And yes I would mention that I was grateful for what I got. That is exactly what I did when our King decided to give every family the equivelent of one thousand, six hundred pounds.....

Yes, but there's a practical as well as a 'moral' issue here, whether or not you believe that capping benefits automatically at the second or third child, which is what the £26,000 cap would do in many areas of the country, would deter from having more children, the existing large families have to be accommodated and supported somehow if they cannot suddenly magic themselves into jobs, at a time of relatively high unemployment anyway.
This Daily Mail article makes no reference to the fact that the government has just made a surprise announcement they are going to hold back the start of the £500pw benefit cap for six months and it is going to be piloted in four outer London boroughs, Enfield, Haringey, Bromley and Croydon first. (The rents are lower in outer than inner London, the inner London housing benefit caps have already affected even the smaller families).
This is because there are fears, 1) The new computer system may not be up to it, 2) It may cost more than it will save because families with children who can no longer afford their rent will have to be given emergency homeless accommodation.
So they're testing how these four boroughs will cope with the rise in homelessness, and how effectively they can move the larger families, three children plus, out of London to cities in the North or the few areas in the SE where rents are much lower such as Luton.
The trouble is in areas where rents are lower there is often higher unemployment so these families have even less chance of eventually taking up employment.
Maybe less to be 'thankful' for now?

He cant work as he suffers from migraines. Well having a headache didn't sop HIM having sex did it! Having a migraine does not stop you from working. Ok, it might stop you from going into work for a few days but years?
It is time the government stopped all these benefits and limited Child Allowance to the first 3 children. If you cannot feed them, don't breed them. People harp on about Africans having lots of kids they cannot feed, well it also applies in this country if the parents rely on State Benefits.
It would be interesting to go back to this family in 20 yeas time to see how the kids turned out. Will they be doctors etc contributing to society or will they in turn be on the scratch living in a council house.
The only good thing about the article was that the woman said that they didn't really need a 5 bed roomed house. Unlike some well publicised immigrants who demand a bigger house saying that it is their right!!

Way of the World Christine!
How many people blame God when they experience a disaster the fist comment usually being "Oh God", but never thank God for the abundance and beauty in the World?

Christine, you're losing it. There is mass unemployment due to a breakdown in the system, and you are blithering about people on the dole. What's the matter with you?
When the economic system is designed to provide work for all, and not just profits for a few, and when there is work for everybody, then criticise those who choose not to work. In our system, everyone has to work except those whose ancestors were violently successful enough to seize an estate. The same crowd are running things now as were in 1o66.
