How big will my kitty get?
I have a 3 month old kitten. He is a male and my parents say he seems very large for his age. They keep telling me that he will be a very large cat. He is half Siamese from his mom who was a purebred siamese used for breeding, but his dad is an unknown mix of breeds. Anyway, he is a Polydactyl so he has 6 toes on his front paws, making them quite large. He is 3 months old and currently weighs about 3.2 pounds. He doesn't seen overweight, but very average. How big do you think he will get?

He could be about normal size.
@catlover: Haven't you watched the Animal Planet show "Too Cute?" There was a mishap with the Siberian cat household, making the kittens only half. I don't think it's right to judge. Maybe the purebred Siamese accidentally mated with the DSH next door, that was still just a kitten himself.

I am not seeing a large cat. A big foot, yes. But at his age and weight, that really is in the normal range, and actually a bit low for the normal range. So a pure guess, 8-10 pounds.
Oh, he can get neutered at any time, if not done already.
He may have some 'Siamese' in him, but to say his mother was a purebred Siamese seems strange, since a mating with a run of the mill cat eliminates the purebred cachet for the female. And that is a big financial loss unless she was and the end of her breeding anyway. Most breeders will only breed their females a few times, and then retire them.

He's average size for his age. I usually go by one pound per month of age. So he will probably end up average (9-12 lbs) when grown at 2 yrs old.
If he's not neutered yet, plan on getting it done this month before he's 4 months old.

I have all kinds and sizes. You can't ever tell! But if he grows too heavy for his height (the vet will know) then a diet is in order.
Me… kittyslave23… I know my place.
