hit head hard... should i go see a dr?

I fell and hit my head on the window sill and the other people in my family heard it from across the house (they thought something hit the roof)

I have a huge bump and a horrible headache (not just where I hit my head). I'm extremely tired. My neck hurts. And over time I've started feeling nauseous.

I'm worried, but I don't have the "serious" symptoms so I don't know if I should go to the ER or not.

Update:

Pupils are normal

A little light headed

Walking normal

Talking normal

A little anxious

Have not vomitted

Have not loss consciousness. Although I thought I was going to the first few minutes after I hit my head. I was a little dazed those first few minutes.

Get to the Emergency Room NOW!! All the symptoms you mentioned sound serious. You could have a concussion or even bleeding on the brain. Both not good things. It's better to be safe than sorry. And even if it is nothing more than a goose bump, you will sleep soundly tonight. Hope everything turns out okay!!

I would absolutely see a medical professional about this. It's always better safe than sorry. Look at what happened to Lliam Neeson's wife. The poor woman hit her head and didn't even feel all that terrible. Little did anyone know she had serious internal bleeding/brain swelling and ended up DYING from her injuries. A copay is nothing. Better safe than sorry.

Hitting your head against steel is dangerous; it can be fatal. See a medical doctor immediately. He'll check if there are any bumps or protrusions, cuts or bruises, and if blood is seeping out of your head. He'll order a CT scan or an x-ray for you to see if you have any brain defects caused by the hit. Hurry! Don't waste any more time. My brother often has epileptic seizures and last time, he was oxygenated.

I would say to go to the doctor but if you decide against it you should probably ice it, take Advil to avoid swelling, and don't go to sleep in case you have a concussion. I'm not a doctor or anything but that's what we do in sports whenever somebody has a head injury.

It's a concussion. Go to the ER and have the doctors tell you just how bad it is.
