Shopping in Cuba....advice please...?

When shopping in Cuba....do you have to 'haggle' the price...or do you just pay the asking price in shops and markets?

Thank you for any serious answers....I usually holiday in India where you have to 'haggle and barter for everything....it's exhausting!!

There really isn't "shopping" in Cuba. The tourist towns have many small markets, with very inexpensive souvenirs. If you are buying more expensive artwork, it's fine to haggle, but for the 5CUC beach bag, does it really matter?

In the shops, the prices are set. It is the same as going to a grocery or clothing store in your home town. Items are either marked with a price, or there is a sign stating the price. In the markets, it's fair game.

You will not be buying clothing there...other than tourist t-shirts. The clothing there is overpriced and terrible quality.

At the resorts the prices in the shops are generally fixed if it's a a vendor setting up shop on the resort grounds by all means haggle, the same at souvenir markets.
