How long does it take for a dislocated kneecap/patella to heal completely?
Im 13 and female, and about 4 months ago I dislocated my kneecap playing table tennis (picking up the ball and twisting the wrong way I think, ohh and also broke my foot at the same time) Anyway it was full on popped out to the outside and and almost swelled up straight away (It a severe case). Its been 4 months and most of the swelling has gone down but not all of it and its still noticable. I have been to physio once (due to being booked out) and I was shaking like a leaf on one leg. It hurts to run and basically anything to do with my knees. Also one more thing that freaks me out is, when I sit with my legs crossed for about 5 minutes, it cracks when it straightens out and then starts hurting.
Does anyone know why it cracks to straighten out and how long it takes to heal completley
Oh and one more thing, the doctors said I have high knee caps, and is doubble jointed it pretty much everything? what does high knee caps mean?

did you consult an orthopedic surgeon. if not, do so asap. knee injuries often don,t heal, if soft tissue is badly damaged. i had a torn meniscus. nothing but pain until i couldn,t even walk without crutches. it required surgery. without knowledge of what is actually wrong, you sill just suffer needlessly. see an expert .get answers.
