Gun ban would protect more than 2,200 firearms...?

Is this how a gun ban must be sold to the public? Is this the only way our media can spin this in order to anti-venom the concept of ban?

Update:

I really think it says a lot about the entire idea of a ban while at the same time doing nothing about mentally ill refusing treatment.

Update 2:

I actually ended up reading the text of the Assault Weapons Ban that was recently proposed by Sen. Dianne Feinstein. When I started reading up on which guns were "exempt" from her proposed ban, I realized that many of them would not have been banned in the first place. IE, didn't meet the criteria for an assault weapon under her definition. My personal favorite was that it included certain BOLT-ACTION RIFLES, which are by definition not an "assault weapon" because they do not accept a detachable magazine. A bolt action rifle could have all the characteristics of an "assault weapon", IE, the pistol grip, telescoping stock, barrel shroud and flash suppressor and it still would be legal.

Bottom line, those weapons that were listed as exempt are simply there to give the gun grabbers like Dianne Feinstein and Carolyn McCarthy cover to say that they support the second amendment, when they clearly do not.

well the you know good and well that the bill of "rights" is actually a bill of "government allowed privilege" your lucky to have any guns, you can keep guns that don't look scary... for now. okay that was sarcasm the govt is trying to rewrite and reinterpret the Constitution and bill of rights as privileges it's a load of crap and if assault weapon ban passes they'll keep restricting the term till everything but a bolt action 22 is all your left with because everything else is a high powered, military grade weapon

A gun ban protects nothing. Not guns. Not lives. Not our freedoms. The Constitution protects us from word shifters that us ban and protect in the same sentence.
