My pullout thing on my desk is squeaky, how should i fix it?

The obvious answer is WD-40 but from the reading i been doing, i keep seeing that it can pick up dirt and dust in the air, and i'm worried that spraying it in there, would cause it to completely lock up eventually.

Off topic, what is this thing even called? Its the tray that a keyboard / mouse goes on that pulls in and out.

Preferably i'd like to find a common household product for this, since i'm broke and probably can't run out to buy anything at the moment.

Also, the way the track is, its quite intricate, so i don't think i could dismantle it, but if it was absolutely necessary i probably could figure it out.

The keyboard thing is a keyboard shelf.Use can use vegetable oil/cooking oil or butter to grease the bearings

Just use powdered graphite. You've got a bearing failure and the rails need to be replaced, but you don't have any money and need to do it on the cheap.

wd40 is a quik fix, but I would use a smear of vaseline or petroleum jelly, this will stay on, where the wd40 evaporates
