Does contractor have to get bad to do the big job repairing the house fast?

I heard of the so called bad boys who can handle the big job fast. Is that really true for contractors?

There are 3 things that determine the quality of a job. Us contractors call it "the triangle." You can have two things on the triangle (sometimes only one), you can't have all 3.

    1). Quality

    2). Time

    3). Price

Don't trust that BS. You did not say what you need done. The bigger the outfit the more lies they tell. I called a big plumbing outfit for an emergency repair because our stupid tennents were clogging the pipes constantly. The made one big and expensive repair and the dolts kept clogging everything so they lied and told us we needed to dig up all the pipes and replace them. He said they were cast iron and the rusted and eroded all the way through to dirt below.

When I called other plumbers to give me an estimate I found there was no problem. Our tennents lied and said they saw the video, or he showed them some other video. He said he entered on the roof another plumber said a camera would not even go in there. The shots he got to from the ground showed a perfectly good and complete and whole pipe all the way through the house. Just one example.

There is really no fast in construction, there is no magic, it takes the time it takes and if you want it done right you wait. But that all depends on the job, what are you doing or having done. Generally if you try to rush or cut corners, you do a crappy job. Yes that is bad however you do not have to do it. Tell them they can have a good job or a bad job....

counting on what you've executed you should spend as a lot as £3k or thereabouts. once you've the percentsheathing then those cables would properly be ok. otherwise the rubber or perhaps lead sheathed cables will truly elect to get replaced. that's the suited time to elect the position you have chose those new sockets and gentle switches etc. because the previous poster suggested, get 3 tradesmen in to provide a quote for a complete rewire. Alternitively you should get a Periodic Inspection record executed for round £2 hundred. this can provide a close record on the issue of the setting up and then you'll use this to get in charges for the artwork that needs doing.

I do home repair. Let me ask you this. If you hire someone that does not know what he is doing and it takes him a week to do the job, or you hire me and it takes three days, does that mean he did better work? I think not. The other thing you have to look at is this. Is the first guy working 8 hours a day where the other guy is working 12? Of course the guy working 12 is going to take less days.

And for those on here telling you that you are stupid for asking the question (Pickle). Tell them to piss off! There are no stupid questions when it comes to your home.

Best advice: Ask if the guy is licensed and ask to see the license. Ask for references. Check those references.

Its really funny to hear this.. But what I think is whether they are good or bad they should know their work. The Boys working hard to complete their work in the required time with best outcomes is what a customer expect. That is all I want to say about it.

I think it doesn't matter if they are "bad boys", if the company and service are reputable they will get the job done.

Good work takes longer and if you dont have time to do it right the first time when will you have time to do it over !
