It depends on where the question is posted from, you are shown as being US. You will see the UK users with their flag when they ask

Whether you log in to YA USA, YA UK, or any of the English speaking sites, you are directed to a common list of questions and answers. It may be that some users from the UK do not realize this. It may be that at certain times of the day, it is UK dominated since they are awake. You can also limit the questions you see by using the drop down at the top of the question list.
