There are several possibilities: FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), Heart disease, and a mass are the most common. He is young so a mass is unlikely but still possible. You need to get a vet to check him.

you should probably check with your vet, and get him any care he needs. it could be a number of things. He could have fluid around important organs, that can cause deadly damage. Always check with a vet. If you cant afford it then call up an animal hospital or vet clinic and ask them what they think, they can give you some professional advice, or even work out a payment plan. Let's hope that its nothing to serious though.

Hi kkbabyxo, I would definitely make an appointment as soon as possible with your vet. It certainly needs to be checked out. That little voice inside you that is telling you, "this isn't right" is that wonderful gift of common sense talking to you. :o) That's good, because you know you've got to get your little buddy checked out. He's awfully young, and although kittens crash faster, yours is still young and somewhat fragile if something goes wrong. I urge you to keep an eye on his breathing. If his tummy gets too swollen it might put pressure on his diaphragm and make it very difficult to breath.

Get him into your vet, and put your heart at ease.

Good Luck to you and kitty,
