How will my dogs adjust?

I'm looking to adopt a new cat. I have two dogs, a miniature schnauzer who is about 15 lbs and a golden doodle who is about 60 lbs. neither of my dogs are vicious nor have they attacked a cat before. They've been around kittens and cats outside of the house before and everything was fine. I used to have a cat and they all got along well. However, the cat was here before the dogs and the dogs had been with her since they were puppies, so they grew up around her. She passed away and I want to adopt another cat in a few months. Do you suggest I adopt a kitten or a cat? I'm happy with either but I'm worried about how my dogs would react if I actually brought one into the house. They've never had another feline in the house besides my old cat.

So my main question is:

Should I adopt an adult cat or a kitten?

How do you think my dogs might act?

Any tips on how to introduce them?

Thanks for any help!

By the way, I would only adopt from a shelter. One of the cat rescues I volunteer with recently saved 2 litters of kittens and just rescued a mother cat expecting a litter in a few weeks. One of my dogs is a well tempered show dog and the other is a goofy happy go lucky dog that is trained like a show dog, so they are well behaved! They are only alone for no more then 4 hours at a time. And I have a big house so if separation is needed for a little bit of time, it's manageable. Thanks!

usually they will scrap with eachother for about 2 to 3 weeks. but don't worry too much. they don't scrap enough to ever hurt eachother so it wouldn't make much of a difference to buy a kitten or a adult cat. how you should introuduce them is kind of like. call your dogs over, and just be touching your cat just for natural protection. let them sniff eachother and if one of your dogs bark, calm him by petting him. same goes for your cat. they usually always adjust within 2 weeks.
