Car accident where police were called?

Right so the police were called to this accident as well as an ambulance to heck everyone over. The police officer spoke in depth with the other driver and his passenger and only asked me briefly what happened. He didn't ask my passenger anything which I found unfair. Is this right? Also is it possible to receive a copy of the police report and can you appeal their decision if you feel it is wrong?

Update:

I know it's not impartial but why talk with both people in the other car and not mine when they don't know who is at fault. Also by appealing I'm more referring to them not considering everything because they didn't seem to want to know what happened from my view and there was a 'supposed' witness who saw me at fault when she couldn't see anything as I was going past her in the other direction she would have just seen me approach the junction.

Just annoyed because I know the other guy skipped the red lights and that's by he didn't see me but because he had right of way it seems an assumption of me not looking is being made even though it is impossible to turn right on a busy road without slowing down and looking especially when there are cars queuing in the middle to turn the other way.

Update 2:

My passenger had abrasions to his arm from the airbag and the other cars passenger was fine but had to be given oxygen because his levels were low but no one went to hospital.

So when the police file an accident report, they're not passing judgement on anyone, just reporting the findings of their investigation. There is nothing to appeal. If there are criminal charges the report will go to court for a finding of guilt through the course of a trial and if not it will be up to the insurance companies involved to determine who is responsible for what.

Just because the investigating officer only talked to you briefly and didn't interview your passenger, why are you assuming the investigation is faulty? How do you know what the other people said? How do you know that both the other driver and passenger didn't admit to running the red light? If they did, the officer asks you what happened, all three stories match, open and shut. Have a little faith.

Was anyone actually injured? I know you said the ambulance arrived to check everyone over but if it turns out there were no injuries then the police are not required to make a report. My first guess on what you've said is that police turned up in case there were injuries but when everyone was fine they no longer had to file a report and so stopped asking questions.

put into hands of your insurer asap.

you passenger was by default not an impartial witness, so very little value in a court case, hence, Plod not spending time with them.

You need expert representation, your insurers should provide it unless they are cut price charlatans, in which case, you could lose and pay a lot of money. Now is the last moment to call your broker....

Leave it to your insurance company to sort it out.
