they did have problems with these trucks differentials,just type your question in to Google and you should be able to get the information that you need.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

No it is NOT common to have the front diff different from the rear diff. Both diffs should match. If the ratios don't match both diffs will go bad. What year is your truck?? What ratio do you have??

All 4X4s the front is geared differently than the back, the front should turn slightly faster than the back.
Source(s): That is why they tell you NOT to use 4X4 on dry pavement, you'll tear out one or the other.
