In the US in the 21st century, are Christians persecuted?
Considering they're the majority in the US and no one is hurting them over their beliefs or trying to stop them from practicing, why do many cry persecution?

No, they are the ones doing the persecuting.
They appear to think that having a different opinion from them is the same as persecuting them. Halfwits.

Christians often like to play the victim. Not all, but enough of them. This is especially true the higher up the Christian is in the political world. They are often more humble in smaller cities, but give a Christian group (or person) power, and more often then not, whenever their needs or wants are not met, they will scream out persecution. This isn't true for only Christians, but other groups as well. It is just a way to try and get an edge on the public's view, even though it often comes out as pathetic.

What our Xtian friends don't understand is that most parts of the bible, especially the OT and most of the NT,is narrowed down to a specific period in history and does not extend beyond that. Case in point, the Xtian persecution. Those words were written at a time when Xtians were dying for their beliefs. Now that that period in history is over and those words are still there, our Xtian friends want to apply it to getting rejected and insulted when they "testify" about Jesus. However, that is misapplication of a word at it's finest. Because being insulted and yelled at is not persecution at all. I'm sorry Xtians...but you have no right screaming persecution in America.

I await the day the Christian persecution ends so finally one can be elected to office, or maybe even president!
Oh, wait, you say every single president has publicly identified himself as a Christian? How bizarre!

As a JW, I do know that the courts are still unfair to them to some extent.
A man who had a history of drunk driving and OWI's went out on his birthday and got drunk. He hit a car of JWs returning home from a meeting.
The JW woman wouldn't take a blood transfusion and died. Of course it is hard to say that she would have lived WITH a transfusion. But she didn't take one and died.
The man got got off on a lesser charge. He didn't get convicted of manslaughter because the jury of non-JWs said that she should have taken the transfusion.
The fact of the matter is that he decided to drink and drive. He had many previous OWI's. And he got behind the wheel and drove.
Her conscience wouldn't allow her to take blood but the jury didn't see it that way. So he got a slap on the wrist.
Now that isn't exactly persecution. But it shows that the courts and juries are biased against us in many ways. If the judge and jury doesn't understand us of course their decisions are going to be affected.
JWs are greatly discriminated against in America. At the current time there doesn't appear to be a big problem with "persecution" by the courts although there could be some I am not aware of.
But if you are talking about persecution in general. Yes, my religion is persecuted by others.
I can't speak for other denominations though.

They are simply crying "persecution" to hide the dishonest behaviors they practice all too easily...WBC being a marvelous example. Why do no Christians gather to protest the horrific garbage WBC displays at the funerals of soldiers?

as area of north carolina's state shape, it bans atheists from working for public workplace. one among our previous presidents even suggested he did not think of atheists deserved to be called individuals. our government has given fred phelps this is stamp of approval, missed warren jeffs last pedophile ring contributors, turns a blind eye to the entire catholic baby rapist schedule, yet god forbid somebody would not have self assurance on your god.

No. They're so pampered that they think not getting their way now and then counts as persecution.

Not yet; not like the persecution in other countries in which Christians are dragged out of bed at 2:00 in the morning, and physically tortured in order to get them to renounce Jesus!
