My cat hates everyone?
We have this cat who is just over a year old now. He never used to do this but now he always slaps everyone in the face (with claws) and sometimes grabs both sides of the face and bites our noses! He also hates being held and always looks really angry. Sometimes he cuddles and purs but this is kinda rare, and even then he will still not let you pick him up. Is there something we can do or will he be an angry cat forever?

I'd take him to a vet as anger and aggression are common signs of illness and injury (especially pain), there could be something wrong which is why he's acting out.
He could feel threatened if you have another cat (or pet) that bullies him, even if it's not owned by you but by a neighbor.

Haha my cat was the same
My cat was abused as a kitten and left in a bag so he doesn't really trust humans so you just have to show that your not going to hurt him and try to avoid getting in rough situations with him that will make him less trusting. Also, let him outside and possibly give him tuna and milk for good behavior.
Me and my aunt(where my cat lives now) did this and now he sleeps with me when I'm there and purrs when I pet him, although he is still untrusting of strangers.

Your cat may be very depressed at different times of day. Maybe he had not have much sleep, or nutrition. Me may have a very awkward personality (like us humans). He thinks that we humans are going to attack him. Refer to a vet or online where you can do activities which can reward him and have a social bond with humans. Learn to cuddle him in the way he likes.

i have an australian born, british short hair blue girl. she used to be like this, she is now 7 and has really come out of her shell, she always jumps up to us or walks past our legs and purs, always sleeps at the bottom of our bed. it was my girlfriend who always picked her up, groomed her, played with her and fed her, i guess she got used to this and decided 'oh these guys are okay after all'. I tell you what works, CatNip in a powder. Rub it onto one of your cats toys and play with your cat. Its kinda like drugs but for cats haha, it makes them all playful and friendly, just have to keep working at it.. good luck

If he's well and just angry then my aunt had a cat like that. You couldn't go near it if you didn't wan your hand to be mauled. He only let my aunt stroke him. One day I sat next to it and very very vey very very very slowly started petting it and he let me. If you slowly start petting it each day it will start to trust you and happiness and joy shall be exploding from your household again!
Hope this helps. Xxx
