Holy water has already been defiled, by the hundreds of dirty fingers that have been dipped in it. The fly would become a wet fly.

Source(s): Holy water is just water that some old priest has wheezed over. Hey, I got one for you: Why does god need mortals to pray over the water, in order to make it holy? If god supposedly made all water, isn't all water holy to begin with?

The water "defiled" because there was nothing special about the water to begin with.
