Is there something that you always knew you didn't want to do?

I mean this is in regards to... books, to jobs, to being published. Anything that's to do with the literary industry.

For example, I know that I don't want to have any other eventual job but a successful, published author. I never wanted to be a literary agent or any of the others.

You?

Is there something that you're dead set against, or something that perhaps you admire but don't want to do?

Thanks for answering.

Update:

@Pocket Protektor - Unfortunately not :/

Oh yes. Loads. But **L** summed up the main one perfectly. Deadlines are the bane of my existence. It's not that I struggle meeting them, I just don't work well under pressure.

    - I knew that I would despise the editing process just as I did in university & high school.

    - I always knew I wouldn't self publish.

    - I always knew I wouldn't sell to a hackneyed publisher that I didn't respect just to make money.

    - I knew I wanted a lifestyle that enabled me to enjoy my daughter and family rather than missing all of the memorable milestones.

    - I knew that my accounting degree was a contingency plan and writing my real goal.

    - I knew I'd struggle with poverty at first, but honestly, it's character-building and makes publication so much sweeter when you finally attain it.

    - I knew I'd receive rejections

    - I knew I would hate beta/alpha reading (because it requires editing)

    - I always knew I'd make a terrible agent because I have a selective reading taste and wouldn't consider anything outside of my personal preference (but then, many literary agents are like this so...)

I don't want to be cooped up in an office.

But at the same time my career doesn't revolve around writing - I've spent several years at college working with lemurs, tapir, monkeys and a load of other animals... it was the best few years of my life, and that is what I want to do. Work with animals, either in a zoo or at a rescue.

But being in an office? That's not for me, neither is stacking shelves (no offence to anyone who does that!)

No, I would take any job in the biz, actually. Know anybody?
