Is it illegal to remove VIN number from my car?
I live in maryland and am wondering if it is illegal to remove the vin number from the dash board and the door jam. local PD wont answer the question. i have my reasons for wanting to do it.

It is illegal in all states.
Also anainst the law to cover up the VIN on the dash or alter the door tag
BTW the N in VIN = number. so you are asking about the Vehicle Identification Number Number

Essentially, the answer is yes. If the VIN is removed the car cannot be registered or, if already registered, the registration cannot be validated. Not advisable.

Yes, it's illegal. And as the only reasons for wanting to do it would be that you're involved in illegal activity, I'll just take this opportunity to tell you you're a f*cking dumbas$ and hope that your criminal scumbag backside ends up in jail where it belongs.
