What happens to family members who can not ---?

What happens to family members of illegal aliens who try to take advantage of the amnesty suggestions in the new immigration bill if some of the family members do not meet the requirements for amnesty? Will they be deported or just allowed to stay in the U.S?

Its a joke on the American people. If one of the family gets amnesty the others will automatically get it. The senators do not want to break up the families so even if one in the family is a know sex offender or dope dealer or whatever that member will be able to stay in the US.

Popular comments though say if someone applies for amnesty (and regardless of what it is being called it is amnesty- the illegals committed a crime and they are being forgiven without punishments- what else can it be?) and can not meet the requirements they will be deported but I think they will just go underground again and hide out with the other millions who do not show themselves. I do not think this new law is going to work!

    Amnesty?

How do you know there will be an amnesty? That's the first time I hear about this. The way I understand it, there will be no amnesty again. Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR) may provide a path to permanent residency, perhaps even to citizenship after 13 or more years, but no amnesty for sure.

What CIR as it is proposed now will do before anything happens is make eVerify mandatory. That means it will be nearly impossible for an illegal alien to find work or keep working, and thus he or she will have to move away eventually in order to make a living.

The perks, namely the path to residency, are bound on putting an end to illegal immigration, so that will come first before anybody will be even able to apply for conditional resident status. So once the law passed both houses of Congress and the President signed it into law, expect the next 2 years to go toward meeting the 3 core requirements. It's very unlikely that the process of legalizing some of the illegal aliens will get started before 2016.
