Can't breathe when running in the summer!?

Why is this?

I started running this spring to lose weight when it was around 50 degrees, and I was doing great! I lost 15 lbs and was confident I could lose more over the summer. But as soon as heat and humidity rolled around, I have had such trouble breathing when I run! After a quarter mile of running or jogging I start to see stars because I can't get enough oxygen! Its making me scared to run. How can I fix this without running in an air conditioned gym?

Try getting up early and going running before it gets too sunny and hot, 7 am is usually a good for getting up early enough that it isn't too hot while also allowing you to get sufficient sleep. Also make sure you are drinking lots of water throughout the day so as to avoid getting dehydrated during your run.

  • Running in humidity = BAD

I've done it once, never will again, in the summer I run either early morning or evening.
