Is anything being done to change California gun restrictions?
The gun laws and restrictions in California are horribly restrictive and ineffective. Is there anything being done to change such laws? Is there any hope in the future for a change?

Unfortunately because of a bad deal the Republicans made with the Democrats, the district lines were redrawn in such a way as to ensure that there will always be a Democrat majority in the state Congress. Because of this, they are free to pass any stupid laws they want without fear of being voted out of office. Since that is the case, instead of any easing of gun restrictions, if anything, there will be more restrictions and bans coming soon in that state

As the other answers have suggested, any change in the near future will be negative change. Some bills currently considered will ban most semi-automatic rifles (including rimfires) (SB 374). Others will change the definition of "shotgun" to ban most handguns (SB 567). And still others will make ammunition incredibly difficult to come by (SB 53).
Yes, the future does look bleak (though one possible silver lining might be that current AR-15 owners might be able to run without bullet buttons). But there is hope. If the SCOTUS were to rule on a Federal basis that something were unconstitutional, that might affect California laws. And certainly there are many California-based firearm organizations which are ready to take these potential laws to court. We've gotten certain California laws overturned before (the online ammunition ban and part of the "assault weapon" ban) so there's still some hope I think.

No. California is a very liberal state and have some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, but it makes no difference for the better. I don't have much hope for CA to change, unless they somehow learn the hard way.

The only thing that will happen is more restrictive laws; they're going through the state legislation as we speak. Get out as soon as you can if you're a freedom loving American. California is passed the point of no return, it's only going to get worse. The politicians here don't believe us common folk should be able to be free. Unless a very Pro-2A governor is elected, the gun laws will not get any better.

we're gonna see a civil war if they keep going at it, i think most gun owners are planning ot resist as in civil disobedience and non violent protest if they push these clearly unconstitutional laws on us. 10% of the population is legal firearms owners. add their families it's probably 15% of the state- 4.5 million people- have guns. due to a decade of gun bans, threats of mail order bans and other bans i'd say almost every gun owner in the state has a few cases stashed away some place.
when it comes down ot it they can't disarm us or move us. it's like what obama faced when the declared war on gun owners shortly after newtown... they won't pass the laws if it results in massive civil unrest and civil war.
i doubt there's any hope in the future or less laws or bills, these anti gunners won't take no for an answer.

Yes. There is something being done about the California gun restrictions. The gun grabbers are trying to further limit and restrict your 2nd amendment rights! Join the NRA and become a member to help support your 2nd amendment rights!

Well short of a group of us California gun owners pooling together a few million dollars to hire a really good constitutional lawyer and suing the State for violating our Civil Rights no nothing is going to change.

Your joking? Seriously? This is a place that loves Gay marriage, weed, taxes & controlling what kind of car you can buy. You will be able to marry a horse in that state before they change the gun laws.
Choices? Wait for the big one..... or Leave like most folks with common sense.

As a former Californian I suggest you flee the State as fast as you can before the Fascist bastards build a fence to keep you in as a slave to the tax man. It's not going to get better.

At this rate no. And there are around 20 anti-gun bills being floated around in your state. Although I have not heard anything on them in weeks.
