NO ! There is no reason for that. It would be a victory for fidel that he does not deserve
Ah, the usual Communists, spreading their propaganda and their lies to try to confuse people. They never desist.
A handful of unhappy people ? There is more than a million Cubans in South Florida who tell the truth they cannot tell in Cuba. The Communists hate that, of course. They cannot tolerate the truth
Still talking about Batista. They are obsessed with him, despite the fact that he died a long time ago, and nobody, except the Communists remember him. Fidel has been cleaning the treasury for the last 50 years. The old boy has more than 10 personal houses spread along the entire country, including Cayo Piedras, a personal resort with acclimatized swimming pool and other comforts.
The MARIEL, right, fidel sent many crooks in order to discredit the honest people who traveled to the usa. A very astute idea, but only fools the ignorants that cannot see beyond their noses
Oh, I dedicated them more space than they deserve

I think it should end,if in more than 50 years it has not accomplish its goal, why keep the Cuban population suffering, the people in the government has everything,it is the everyday Cuban that suffers the embargo while the ones on top have it all, like anywhere, but in this case they use the embargo as an excuses for what is wrong with the revolution and the economy in the Island.

looks to me like a homework question and for my own selfish reasons I vote no that way it will keep the island free of American tourists and make a good holiday destination for the rest of us. Cuba has been bypassing the embargo for years and it really doesn't mean jack any more. I can buy cans of Coke for the same price as the local (better tasting IMHO) brand down there. I see lots of modern cars most of which are Hyundais. The embargo is only to satisfy the Miami Mafia and politicians

Yes it's really gone on too long.the U. N. condemns the U. S. for it's actions every year. Of course it's mostly nonsense but the S. Florida dissidents have a habit of spreading that type of misinformation. They have been pretty much relegated to patrolling web sites like this offering "thumbs down" to posters with whom they disagree. It's not surprising that with opposition of that caliber the Castros are still in power and likely to remain so, Unfortunately what is now a relative handful of unhappy people in fact what is now a minority of Cubans in South Florida who have accomplished basically nothing in almost fifty years would like to inflict their misery on the rest of the world. with a "misery loves company," attitude. Many of the older Cubans who left when Castro gave them the boot fled with Batista who cleaned out the treasury taking with him suitcases of U. S. dollars. in later years there was the Mariel boat lift when Castro cleaned out his prisons of thieves, rapists, murderers and other undesirables and allowed them to flee to Florida and start collecting American welfare.now they like to post that the rest of the world such as Canadians who visit Cuba are Communists, more nonsense.Every year the U..N. criticizes the U. S. for not lifting the embargo but it falls on deaf ears Fortunately Castro has many friends and the embargo is now mostly ineffective. Silly thing, the dissidents criticize us for going o Cuban resorts but it is those resorts and the tourist industry which now provide most of the income and jobs for Cuba, very strange, many of their relatives wouldn't have jobs were it not for tourism.

This isn't a travel question. Put it over in "Politics" and you'll get lots of answers.

Yes, because we are holding a cold war grudge against them and Cuba has even gone to the extent of reaching out to us but we denied them because we said they are still communist and we dont ally with them until they become democratic
- Semmelweis25Lv 68 years ago
Definitively not !
There is no reason to do so. That would make fidel and its komunists happy
