Why would they have to reboot Deadpool for a new movie?

I'm asking because the directors said that they can't have the version seen in Origins. I understand Deadpool is the "Merc with a Mouth" and this talkative a**hole and the Deadpool in Origins has his mouth sewn shut or whatever. So listen to me for a second...

Deadpool (Wade Wilson) used to be a mercenary that was subjected to the Weapon X program (syncs up with Origins so far) the only difference is that Origins Deadpool is a puppet, but at the end of the movie it's shown that Deadpool is alive. His arm crawls and grabs his head as he says "Ssshhh" to the audience. Deadpool spoke. And in the comics, Deadpool's true face is this grotesque zombie-like head. So why not just put a Deadpool costume over Ryan Reynolds and say Stryker found Deadpool and submitted him to mutant extraction, calling the test a fail. That would get rid of the optic blast and stuff he had in Origins. Wade becomes self-aware halfway through the procedure, stabs Stryker with his katana and regains his personality. Then Deadpool grabs some mutant DNA (or alternatively, Stryker puts some of Wolverine's DNA in him) and injects himself.

Ryan Reynolds has the comedy and action down pat. So if they come up with a story that's solid or similar to mine, then they wouldn't have to reboot the franchise just for Deadpool. Any questions?

Update:

@Blayze :D: But I wouldn't see the point as far as Reynold's sex appeal as the true Deadpool wore a mask.

I think they want Ryan Reynolds to look like Ryan Reynolds in the movie instead of looking like Deadpool for the whole thing because some people think he's good-looking and they figure that'll appeal to a wider audience.

Source(s): Been looking forward to a Deadpool movie since Origins was released. :(

origins was terrible, that alone is a good reason to reboot instead of continue

deadpool in origins also had all sorts of weird powers taken from other mutants - normally deadpool only has a healing factor.

deadpools actual story differs quite a bit from origins, so thats another reason to start anew (theres a whole lot of story right there that they can use)

i dont much mind ryan reynolds as deadpool, but even if they use reynolds again, i think they should def give him an original story,

Seconded, Jason B. I hate to burst your bubble, massive b, however the 1st green Lantern (aka Golden Age green Lantern) replaced into Alan Scott, and he wasn't black. The Bronze Age green Lantern replaced into guy Gardner, who made his first visual allure in green Lantern #fifty 9 (March 1968). The Silver Age green Lantern - and specific the main nicely-widespread - replaced into Hal Jordan, who replaced right into a founding member of the Justice League of united statesa.. John Stewart is the 1st African-American green Lantern, who first appeared in green Lantern vol. 2 #87 (December 1971). He succeeded guy Gardner and is the fairway Lantern who seems interior the lively sequence. Then there is Kyle Rayner, the famous Age green Lantern, who replaced into Mexican-American. there are various green Lanterns interior the DC universe, and not all of them have been humanoids. those I defined indexed right here are the fairway Lanterns from Earth, in chronological order. you are able to say that being green Lantern recognizes no creed, race, or colour. *pant* As for Ryan Reynolds...ehhhh. he's already carried out Deadpool and the Blade Trinity factor. And his character purely strikes me as slightly too smirky and self-unsleeping for the fairway Lantern place, rather in the event that they're doing the Hal Jordan version. GL's continuously struck me as being a severe, no-nonsense type (he replaced into component to a legion of intergalactic police, after all), so i don't think of Ryan Reynolds has the character for the region.
