She told me she hates me?

There's a girl I've been texting for a while who I really LIKED, past tense. Everything's been going smooth or at least I thought. We texted just about every day back and forth. Then, out of nowhere I get a text from her phone that I assume was from one of her friends. It read, "Please stop texting my friend. She is texting someone else now and just realized she hates your guts." I was shocked as most people would be. I talked to one of my buds about it and he texted her telling her to stop being a b**** which she responded with a Huh?...I've been nice to her, gave her some moral support at times and she throws it back in my face by telling me she hates me? I feel terrible right now because I really cared about her but if someone tells me they has me, I'm not going to keep chasing them. I did absolutely nothing to make her hate me and I don't know why she couldn't have told me herself instead of having one of her friends do the dirty work for her. Now I feel like I hate her as well for making me fall for her in the first place. Any advice or comments?
