Do you think this would be too much for a cat (regarding travel)?

My husband and I are going on a vacation to the nearest city in our area. I'm considering adopting a cat before we come home and bringing her back with us (we'd be flying). A year and a half later, we are going to be moving out of the country we're stationed at and moving someplace else overseas.

My question is, do you think this would all this travel be too traumatic for a cat? I really need a furry companion, but I also want what's best for our future pet too! I' be taking her with us when we move since I wouldn't want to leave her behind.

Note: We live in a very isolated town at the moment where there isn't any pet shelter here to get a cat, hence the reason why I'd be getting one while we're away.

Cheers for your input!

If you are moving overseas, be sure to check that country's quarentine time. I heard that it's 6

    months in the U.K..
