thinking it might be like chaos;head?NOOOO NOO NOO. dude its nothing like chaos head. I did the same thing. I didn't want to watch it because of chaos head. But then I did. Best decision I've made in a long time.

Its a +2 or 3 score compared to chaoshead for almost anyone. If u gave chaos head a 4/10, u'll at the very least give stiens gate a 7/10. And thats if you're hardcore. Its 3rd in top 50 anime in MAL for a reason.

I see you watched fate/stay night and fate/zero. Imagine that level of improvement.Except it doesn't have to have a crappy ending like fate/zero did. (fate zero had to prequel its lesser fate stay night, making the endinglocked into into the disappointment it was). Steins;gate is a stand alone from chaos head. and IS NOT held back by chaos; head's disappointing adaption. (The VN is good)

Just watch it. The lowest score you'll give is a 7, judging by your scores. I expect an 8 maybe. But thats just me. U did give fate/zero a 7 and Index an 8 so I'm not really sure how you judge anime exactly. But its gonna be around an 8. I see you're more into action so I think it'll get a 7. Its a slower(BUT necessary) start and lacks action. If you expect an action anime don't watch this. If you expect a great story(one of the best in the last decade of anime) that is satisfying to see through, then watch this.

It's a sci-fi series with a smart and complex plot that revolves around time travel. If you like that sort of thing (e.g., the movie Primer or Donnie Darko) then you'd probably like Steins;Gate. It's not a psychological thriller like Chaos;HEAd, nor is it a school-club series like Robotics;Notes. (For what it's worth, I didn't care for either of those other two series.)

Steins;Gate is definitely not full of action, though there is some toward the end. In my opinion it's one of the best sci-fi anime series in recent history, but whether that makes it interesting to you would depend on whether you like science fiction.

Also, it starts out a bit slow. The first time I started watching it I almost gave up after an episode or two. Give it at least three (where the character introductions are done and the real meat starts) before deciding whether to watch the remaining 20+. If you're not hooked by then, you probably won't like it.

Steins;gate starts off slightly gradual. The primary 12 episodes are used to boost characters and build up anxiety. After these 12 episodes, things starts to velocity up. If you're nonetheless not enthusiastic about it at this point, there is a good danger you're just not interested on this form of anime in any respect. Motion-shrewd, there isn't various it. Its more of an emotional and psychological stress series (if I had to check out to explain it). There may be little fan carrier, but virtually always phrases are the most you'll get out of it. I would say watch it as much as episode 13, which is when things starts kicking off and you'll in for a significant journey. If the events through then nonetheless don't curiosity you, then it won't your form of anime.

It's all about time travel, I love it and I am going to buy it :D You should definitely watch it, if you love time-travel, like I do... :D Have fun!
