Turning Red velvet CAKE blue ??!?
I'm making a star cake for my BF, her favs red velvet ! BUT I want to make the inside colorful ... will the box cake batter dye when adding food coloring? ALSO does anyone know a good brand of cream cheese frosting?

If you are wanting to make a red velvet cake that is blue, you cannot use the boxed cake mix. That mix has the red dye in the mix and if you added blue food color, it would turn out dark purple at best.
I suggest getting a recipe for a home made red velvet cake, BUT use blue food coloring instead of red.
