Convert the following into m.k.s.? Help please?

I could do all the questions except the last one, where part of it is cubed.

320 Mg/mm^3 ........... That needs to be converted to kilograms/meters cubed. Could you please explain your process? Thank you so much in advance! I've been trying it for over an hour!

    1000 g = 1 kg.

    1000 mm = 1 m

    1000^3 mm^3 = 1 m^3

    Now, 320 Mg/mm^3 = 320000000 g/mm^3 * [1 kg / 1000 g] * [1000^3 mm^3 / 1 m^3 ] = 320 * 10^12 kg/m^3

    Note, that the unwanted units, g and mm^3 cancel out. Also, the units in the [--/--] on the top and bottom are equivalent to each other. The [--/--] is called a unity bracket.

    It takes a while to understand, but once you grasp it, it helps to deal with more complicated conversions.

    Easy rule of thumb.. if the unit is in the numerator (like mg in mg/mm^3), then you have to multiply if you are converting from a bigger unit to a smaller unit, and divide if the conversion is from a smaller unit to a bigger unit.. meaning: you make the number SMALLER if the unit is getting BIGGER

    And if the unit is in the denominator, you multiply if the unit is getting bigger, and divide if the unit is getting smaller.. Meaning: you make the number SMALLER if the unit is getting BIGGER

    In the given problem, I am not sure if you meant Mega gram (10^6 gm) or milligram (10^-3gm).. Imma go with milligram, and you`ll have to adjust the calculations otherwise.

    example in 320 mg/mm^3 --> 320 000 kg/m^3

    from mg to kg in the numerator ---> /1000000

    from mm^3 to m^3 in the denominator ---> X 1000^3

    SO it is like this 320 X 1000^3 / 1000 000 = 320000 kg/m^3

    I hope that`s not too confusing :)
