Global Warming and the Sun - Will this resolve the issue?

That along with the PDO and AMO going negative, I see that we may be in for a very cold spell for awhile.

I recall back in the 1970s people predicting a new ice age coming soon. But that was also the time we first became aware of global warming. So I do recall some people saying that global warming may be saving us from plunging into a new ice age. Or maybe you could say the coming ice age is saving us from global warming.

This is why I prefer to call it a CO2 pollution problem instead of a temperature problem. There is no argument about the CO2 rise. Unlike temperature, reliable direct measurements go back hundreds of thousand of years (with the data from long ago coming from direct modern measurement of air bubbles trapped in ice sheets for millenia). And the trend is alarming. We have already changed the balance of CO2 in the atmosphere 30%. We have changed the balance of the ENTIRE EARTH'S ATMOSPHERE by THIRTY PERCENT! And we are increasing the rate of change each year, so it will not be long before we have changed it 100% Doubled the CO2! CO2 may still be a minor part of the air, but it IS is a poison gas. That is just alarming!

Unfortunately not. The 'issue' is not scientific; it never has been. If it were scientific, it would have been resolved when it became obvious that the surface temperature dataset has been 'tweaked', the upper tropospheric hotspot was shown by the radiosonde data to not exist, the satellite data contradicted the surface temperature data, and the hockey stick was shown to be a product of 'mannian statistics', etc.

There will simply be yet another ad hoc hypothesis that will blame the climate--whatever it does--on industrial civilization. It is, as Le Bon described, a 'religious sentiment'. It is 'incontrovertible'.

That issue was resolved in the 1980s.

Yep. I worry more about the cold from natural causes than the warmth from human causes. I think the consequences of the former are probably a lot worse if/when they come to pass.

Solar activity has not been driving the current acceleration of GW, it is human induced greenhouse gas emissions. The sun is not going to start a cooling period either, that is rubbish also.

Cutting and pasting 4 year old graphs ripped out of all context by science deniers "resolves" nothing.
