Friend from Brazil wants to move to Canada?
Hello there
Would you tell me the required info I need to tell my friend from Brazil the requirements he needs to live here. I know he needs a Visa but he also plans to study here in university but I dont know the exact details for that. The reason I took this question to Yahoo is because im nearly clueless on these kinds of situations. I would appreciate great long answers.
Thank You

He can apply for a "work permit " OR he can apply for a "student visa'.
He CANNOT have both, at the same time. He has to make a choice, one or the other, not both.
To get a student visa, he has to apply, to a Canadian University, and be ACCEPTED, and get a letter of acceptance, by return mail. WHEN he has that letter of acceptance in his hand, he can TRY to get a student visa, that will allow him to come to Canada, as a STUDENT, not to work.
In order to be accepted as a student, by a University in Canada he has to PROVE that he has enough actual money, to pay ALL of his costs, to come to Canada, pay his University fees, and money to pay for ALL the costs of his living, in Canada. International students are not given scholarships, in Canada, so don't count on that happening.
Here is a link to a Canadian Government website, about qualifying for a student visa.
