Can my boyfriends father claim our child?

I am 23, and a full time student, with no income just lones and grants.

My boyfriend is unemployed for the year of 2013 with no income. We both live with his father and he is the only one working in the household. Can he claim our 1 year old child on his tax return? What should we know.

Yes, and if you both live there and neither of you have an income, he claims both of you too, since he supports you. Assuming of course you lived with him all year, the son lived with him 6 months, and the child lived with him 6 months.

if your child has lived in the household of his grandfather six months and there is not more than 50% of the child's support from other sources(ie. welfare, you and the child's father etc) the child can be claimed by the grandfather

No job, no benefit from claiming the child by either one of you.

    Sounds like he can.
