Questions about cat with liver disease?

My 12-yr-old cat was diagnosed with liver disease, and the vet prescribed antibiotics to see if it was infectious. No improvement. I have to force-feed her, and lately she doesn't even tolerate that. She ate a little food by herself this morning and then threw it up. Several times over the last several days, she has thrown up clear, mucus-y stuff. Could she possibly get better, or will this be the end? Any advice? Thanks.

Discuss a feeding tube with the vet. It's not as bad as it sounds, and can mean a difference between a cat living, or not. And of course it depends on why the liver is diseased in the first place. Something to discuss with the vet.

Liver disease is quite a bit of an issue and there is no proper treatment in the western medicine. The best way for human beings is to have diet control, exercise, etc. There are other ways you can try such as ayurvedic or herbal medicine Kamalahar. In the traditional medicine world there are some good cures for liver diseases.

I agree with the first poster. If you can arrange to have a feeding tube inserted, and feed her that way, there;s always a chance. I did that for 3 months with one of my girls. I ultimately lost her due to other complications, but the Vet did admit that her liver was improving by tube feeding.

It's not really that difficult. The first couple of times are scary, but once you get the hang of it, it's not bad.

Best of luck to you and your kitty. ♥
