Tea party supporters... how can you stomach the 24 billion they wasted?
That is over 1 fourth of the entire food stamp budget.
So that means in 16 days they wasted enough money to feed over 10 million people for a year.
24 billion is 1 eighth of the estimated cost of Obama care for 1 year.
Yes, in 16 days they wasted enough money to provide a years of medical coverage to 5 million people.
@How... you are clearly delusional. Obama had zero to do with it.... he just signs things at the end.
@ Shaun... no sweetie, the shutdown cost an ADDITION 24 billion... all other government costs were still there in full force. The government didn't save a single thing.

Easy.
Federal spending this year: $3.8 trillion.
Amount spent each day: $10.4 billion.
Shutdown went on for 16 days. 10.4 billion X 16 = $166.4 billion
Cost of shutdown: $24 billion.
So... Whereas it'd usually cost us $166 billion in those 16 days, it 'only' cost us $24 billion during shutdown.
That's a lot of savings. In fact its $142 billion saved, in just 16 days.

Have you heard a single Republican say they approved of Obama's shutdown and disgusting behavior over the last couple weeks?
And FYI the $24 billion number Obama's shutdown was supposed to cost had nothing to do with government spending.
