when you send food back at a eating place do you think thay will not spit in it?

I know people that work in the food places When you send something back that is a slap in the face so to get even guess what happens. The pay is crappy the hours are just stupid most of the time these people are having a hard time making it. Please be moor understanding when it comes to sending stuff back and bitching about food and just eat it.

I agree that customers are too picky. However, it's on the foodservice staff to make sure the food is made correctly. I'm the one paying for the food, which means I'm ultimately the one paying their salary. Yes, I realize they get paid next to nothing. I tip well; beyond that it's on them to get promoted or find a better job.

I rarely send food back. The last time I did was at Hooters, and the waitress brought me a plate of 12 wings. THREE of them had large feathers sticking out of them. They were all about two inches long and sticking straight into the air--not something that should have been missed. I've never been the loudmouthed "get me the manager" guy before, but I was that day.

Having worked in foodservice myself, I try to be respectful of the workers. If something is edible, I eat it. However, I completely understand people's right to send something back. If they paid for food and it isn't right, then they should either get what they ordered or they shouldn't be charged for it. If I take my car to a mechanic to get repaired and it doesn't run right when I pick it up, it's going right back to the mechanic. If I ask for the guy at the electronics store to bring me a TV and he brings a stereo out of the back, he's making another trip. I don't demand absolute perfection from a restaurant, but I don't understand why some people expect to be allowed to screw up without having to redo their work.

I have FAITH they won't spit on it, Steve. I know people that work in food places, too. They: 1) know the salary when they start; 2) they know the customer wants what s/he pays for but sometimes, due to the manager watching the clock, they take shortcuts and food comes out cold/ill-prepared; and 3) they know when #2 happens that they got 'caught' and fix it properly; and 4) they don't consider returned food a slap in the face and they would not spit on the food as they would not want someone to spit on their food.

PS: 5) They know cameras and 'people who talk' are EVERYWHERE, so they wouldn't risk their job doing something so foolish.

Love to eat out AND appreciate good service.

why on earth would you even eat at a place where you suspect that your food would be spat on? if they're capable of that, you can guarantee they're not practicing proper food handling procedures and you're likely to get food poisoning. up your standards. where i dine, i feel confident that the chef would want to know if something was wrong with the food quality and would be eager to fix any mistake. but i have very high standards.
