AC/DC, but now I have to tell the whole story.

When I was 3 years old I heard TNT for the first time on the radio and that guitar solo blew my mind, me being 3 I didn't care what the band was. Then I heard Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and I loved that song too, again, I was a little kid and didn't know the band. A few years later I watch Little Nicki with Adam Sandler and they play Highway to Hell at the end and I got that song stuck in my head, of course not knowing that it was the same band that played TNT or Dirty Deeds. A couple years later when I was about 11 my dad buys AC/DC Live and plays it for me and I hear all those songs I loved but didn't know the band. After that I was obsessed, I know own all their albums and listen to them over and over again. I like a ton of other bands too, and now I have over 1400 songs on my iPod just of rock and metal, and I'm still discovering new bands today.

RUSH, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Queen, Journey, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Blondie

but, tbh, I had the entire The Beatles collection from the time I was a toddler. I wore those records out and memorized it all. Loved it back then, not so much nowadays. It's ok I guess

I can't believe I'm only The SECOND person to mention The Beatles. I saw them on Ed Sullivan just shy of 50 years ago (live, NOT a recording), and a new light just seemed to shine.

Of course, The Rolling Stones came along right afterward, and I was for all intents & purposes lost.

For some reason, when I was 10 years old, I listened to Kickstart My Heart for the first time. I loved it. I kept it on replay for 3 days straight. Then I got hooked on more and more Motley Crüe. Now I'm in love with all kinds of heavy metal!

Actually it wasn't a band - It was a great guitar player , singer and song writer named Chuck Berry. My older brothers used to play his music all the time and I learned to love it. The first band I actually started listening to was one that a lot of people started with - The Beatles". But the first harder edged Rock band had to be The Rolling Stones or maybe The Who. The band most responsible for my life long love of the Blues and Blues Rock has to be John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. That band lead me to my favorite band Led Zeppelin.

For me it was Oasis through their album 'Be Here Now' bought by my mom for me on Sept.5 1997. I hated the album initially except for the first song, then one cold December night that year I got into the album and by the early next year I had transitioned into a rock music fan. Now, I'm a classic rock fan.

  • The really got hooked one, I would say Jimi Hendrix Experience. But I remember The Rolling Stones songs played on the radio that made me start to pay attention before that.
