Why do people cheat on those they claim to love, and then claim to love them some more?

Question

I, for example, could not do that because if I have someone that I love, then my brain tells me not to takeoff my clothes and bump uglies with a person who is a different person than the one I love. Is the problem that people who cheat dont have actual brains and instead their heads are full of semen?

Also, why do I forgive the brainless idiot that I (for some reason) love. Why do I love him even though he is a rotten, stupid, jerk?

Also, when he comes and looks really pathetic and tells me that he made the biggest mistake of his lfe and he wants to "off" himself because he hurt me so bad, should I have rewarded him with an Oscar instead of understanding and forgiving and comforting him like I did? Have I gone overboard with thinking that I am of a higher consciousness, up there with tthe Dalai Lama? (sp)

Lastly, why do I even want to be with him?

Lots going on here: One thing at a time.

They do it because its variety.  A need that needs to be met.  It has nothing to do with love.  I know you wont understand that, but its truth. 

You cant do that, but all the other people on earth are NOT YOU. 

You love the rotten stupid jerk not because of love.. you are ATTRACTED to him. Attraction has nothing to do with love.  Serious. 

You want to be with him because your subconscious says "you cant find any better!"  but you can.  Because there are billions of guys on this earth. Yep, billions with a B.  So if you only KNEW how many guys want to just talk to you, or take you out, or just kiss you for a while... you would totally re think this loser. 

Also, you wan the answer to this question:  Why does he keep coming back to me!!!???
Answer:  Because you KEEP TAKING HIM BACK.

Depends on the guy, depends on the relationship. I heard a guy friend say once that two of the most well used lines in the Western World are "God I love you" and "the check is in the mail". A lot of guys will go into a relationship solely for sex. Some of  guys what they claim as love is a temporary infatuation, one gland talking to another. Your significant other could have been drunk when he did the dirty deed. Also as long as you keep taking him back he'll keep doing it. If it were me I  guarantee that if I took hm back he whould know my pain. I would make him so miserable, that assuming he stayed and took the beating, he would never do it again one way or the other. What surprises me is you even heard about it. 90-95% of the cheating I've ever heard about the injured party never got wind of it until long after the act itself. The cheater essentially buried the evidence the next morning

I am like you and can't understand why anyone would cheat on someone they love.  The answer is people that cheat don't love the person they cheated on or they never could have done it.  Unfortunately there are a lot of people that will lie and say they love someone when really they don't.

The way to tell if someone loves you or not is not because they tell you they do because people will lie.  His actions will tell you if he loves you or not.  He won't do things to hurt you and he will always have your back.

It appears your boyfriend doesn't love you.  Do with this information as you wish.
