Am I to old to go to college?

am I to old to go to college?I have been seeing my younger siblings get there bachelor and master degrees. My mom pretty much respects them more for doing so. She is always talking highly of them and never talks good about me because I have no college education. I have no GED. I am 34 I make about 60k a year. I had kids early and never finished or went back to school. I have been thinking about it lately. I want my GED and I would love to go to college. Part time of course (community college) get my associates and maybe keep going. But arent I to old for this? I mean my daughter will be in college in 4 years. Maybe I am thinking to highly. I mean by the time I get a masters Degree how old would I be?

Go to college and tell your mother to suck it. I'm 33 and I plan on going back to finish. I know people in their late 50's starting and going all the way to a PhD. You have to break down your goals into smaller pieces. Get your GED first. Start looking for scholarships. Go see a guidance or admissions counselor at the cc. Find out what you need to get the ball rolling. I bet it was like yesterday when your daughter was born, right? Imagine how the next 4 years are going to roll by. You might as well be taking a class or two each semester.

    Good luck.

P.S. I think people should do whatever they want. Don't start limiting yourself. If you want to go to college, go. There is NOTHING better than an education. It's the best self esteem booster you'll ever meet. You are doing it for you anyway. Don't think about what other people think. In the end, you are all you have.

I returned at the age of 44 and now I will be student teaching in January at the age of 47. So how old are you going to be if you don't graduate? The same? So go for it.

p.s. When I was at Junior College there was a man in his late 60's who graduated with an associates degree. He always wanted to go to college but this was his first opportunity. He got a standing ovation at graduation.

You are never too old for college, especially community college. There are a lot of older-than-college-age students at the community college my aunt teaches at, and if you go on private college websites, you will see a special section for older applicants (sometimes they have to apply early). I read an article about an 80 year old lady who went to college and got her degree. You can do it.

No, you are not too old for college.

College is a type of education meant for older people, and there are a few people even older than you that go to college, or return to college if they did not finish.

    you should go!

If you want to, and have the opportunity and stuff, you should. you are never too old for education. My mom went back to university when I was 7, and finished when I was 11. (when she was 35 - 39). You're not too old, don't worry!

Definitely not! Multiple people wait awhile to go to college. You're only middle aged. You should go for it! Hope I helped!
