Why are atheists so insecure?

Are you afraid that no one cares for your life, that you are just a blip in time?

That's not how it is.

Update:

Hope is not without reason.

Update 2:

@Alan

I'm sure YOUR religion allows you to lie. Whatever your thoughts may contain, it is of no concern to me. I have always walked my own path with God.

I don't think that no one cares. I care, for one. But I do think that my life is finite.

I don't care if you think otherwise. Think what you want.

What do you mean "so insecure"?

What makes you assume that atheists are less secure than other people?

I am not afraid to be just a blip in time. I am fine. You and me, we are just a blip in time. The difference is that you are afraid. You are searching comfort in a fictional world with an afterlife. You are afraid that you might be wrong, that your religion might be made up.

Hope is not without reason? I see no reason for your hope.

I'm afraid we have different definitions of "insecure". Mine would be a fellow like yourself, who needs a fantasy of eternal life so badly that he won't stop and think for a moment, "You know... this could all be made up." Or who possess your need to have everyone believe as you do...

    >> Whatever your thoughts may contain, it is of no concern to me.

    Incorrect. As per...

    >> Why are atheists so insecure?

If what our thoughts contained were truly of no concern to you, you would have never posed the question.

    >> I'm sure YOUR religion allows you to lie.

You are doing a poor job of demonstrating that yours does not. Indeed, at the end of the day, you are driven by a deep-seated need to see us kneel before you and your belief set, and you would exploit our fears (or what you imagine them to be) to see it happen. This begs skepticism.

I too walk my own path with God. If atheist feel insecure they really don't realize why. That insecurity is God calling them but they refuse to listen to Him

If I was insecure, I wouldn't be an atheist. Atheism is not for everybody, especially the insecure.

Prove to me that I'm not just a blip in time, then we'll talk about my conversion.

I care about my life and my family's, but I am also a blip in time, as you put it. Nothing to do with insecurity, that's just reality, to think otherwise is just arrogant delusion.

Generalize much? You are an ignorant person.

I have plenty of people who care about my life. Hope in an imaginary being without a shred of empirical evidence IS without reason!

Your response to Alan says it all; and that is that nothing that anyone else says will pry open your self inflicted sewn shut eyes. You just shut down and shut out any opposing viewpoint that is contrary to yours. Alas, the mark of a truly ignorant individual.

Congratulations, you have just pigeon-holed yourself in the 'Bible-thumper" category of people; those ultra ignorant, "lalalala I can't hear you" people who cling to their Bible despite the overwhelming evidence against them; those that stick their noses up at and judge anyone that thinks, believes or lives differently than they do.

You obviously know that atheists are not insecure, but for you to ask this question you show that you are insecure and you are looking for help. I also know that people like you curse and then go to church and ask your priest to forgive you. Atheists take responsibility for our actions unlike believers who are always clutching onto the make believe Jesus.

Source(s): Atheists are not interested in what religious persons calim about god or the bible.

This question really makes no sense. What exactly is wrong with having insecurities, or accepting your weaknesses? And what does this have to do with a person's spiritual beliefs? I'd rather be 'insecure' than to think I am the center of the universe.

They're not, why would you assume they were?

"My opinions may have changed, but not the fact that I am right." - unknown

it's easy to misunderstand this quote, but it just simply means, respect other peoples views and keep yours to yourself.

Everyone with any emotion whatsoever has insecurities and just because some are good at hiding it doesn't mean it wont effect them.

TBH this question makes you sound quite insecure. It's ok, find a friend and get a hug. <3

Source(s): I have a way of opening people up even when they try to act like nothing bothers them.
