As far as what? I've had both. I show cats and most of my cats have been purebreds but I've had several household domestic cats too. My first and very special cat was a blue mackerel tabby & white domestic. His name was Mitten cause he had 4 white feet.
Unless you want a show cat or you have a need for a specific breed, then most people choose domestics to own. Nothing wrong with wanting a purebred vs a domestic.

Unless your planning to spend thousands and thousands to show your cats at an pet show to get a two dollar ribbon, get one from a shelter. mixed breeds tend to have a gentler disposition.

Unless you are planning on showing or breeding, there is no reason to get a pedigree cat unless you want a specific breed. If you just want a cat, go to a shelter and adopt. If you want a cat that has the traits and personality you are looking for, go to a reputable breeder and purchase a kitten.

Good points, bad points?
Pedigrees are specially bred catsa while domestics are mostly local feral cats which have been tamed.

What's the question?
Pedigree is just more expensive than domestic.
Source(s): One pedigree Maine coon and 3 domestics.
