Christians: Do you believe Paul when he wrote in Romans 3:29 that God is the god of the Jews ...?

This is essentially the same story as the prodigal son & Joseph in Egypt. In each case the ones who had been dispersed from the family of the 12 Tribes of Israel, were not known by their tribe.

The prodigal son went out into the world & became as a gentile but when he came to his senses he went back home, but his elder brother was jealous & resentful & did not want him back., BUT the Father welcomes him home. So it is with Judah they do not want the 10 tribes back so they resent anyone who calls themselves messianic in any way. Yahushua came for the lost tribes of Israel who were by now dispersed into the then known world & viewed as gentiles. Many of them probably did not know who they were, so Yahushua who came for the jews & the gentiles sent out disciples to help them return. See 1Peter where he addresses the pilgrims of the dispersion in verse1 & later in chapter

2:11-12 says to those dispersed "Beloved I beg you as sojourners & pilgrims abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, having your conduct honourable among the gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works which they observe glorify YHVH God in the day of visitation."

Even though they were among the gentiles they were to be an example to the gentiles so they might also come into the family of YHVH God through His Son Yahushua Ha Mashiach.

Joseph in Egypt also ended up looking like the Egyptians & his wife & children were gentiles. His own brothers did not recognise him, BUT YHVH God did & made his gentile children a part of the tribes of Israel who also went out into the dispersion. Yahushua commissioned His disciples to go into all the world & make disciples. Many of the writings of Paul, Peter, Luke & the rest tell of these journeys.

In this day & age many people have Israelite or jewish heritage & probably do not even know it.

Our heavenly Father has made provision for all His family to come back to Him in Messiah, BUT will they??

Many jews do not like it when people who have jewish heritage want to return to Abba YHVH, so nothing much has changed in all these years. The 12 Tribes are still dispersed & the elder brother is still resistant to change.

Yahushua was sent to all Israel as stated & from there to the gentiles. Seeing as he was born Jewish He started His ministry there in Judah, from there it went world wide. YHVH God created all men & although He took Israel out of the nations, He is still the YHVH God of the jews(Israel) & gentiles mixed with Israel of today.

Romans 3:29

Paul is not mistaken. God is the Elohim of both the Jews and Gentiles. As the Scriptures say, the earth is YHWH's and all that is in it, and all those who live in it (Ex. 19:5, Deut. 10:14, Job 41:11, Psalm 24:1). He is the Elohim of all flesh (Jeremiah 32:27).

He is also the Elohim of the Messiah.

Revelation 3:12-14

"He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. 13 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. 14 And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,'These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God."

Matthew 15:24

But He answered and said, "I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

* No one has really written an answer to this question. Here is the part no one addresses...'If Jesus is the same as God, and God is God of the Jews AND the Gentiles, then Jesus would not have said he was sent to the lost sheep of Israel only."

I do not believe the Messiah to be the same as God, but if He were... Why would He not have said that? If Yahushua were the same as God, the God of the Jews and the Gentiles, why must it then follow that He would not have been sent only to the lost sheep of Israel when the lost sheep of Israel are among the Gentiles?

Likewise, if Yahushua is not the same as God, why would the God of the Jews and the Gentiles not send His Son to the Gentiles when the lost sheep of the House of Israel are among the Gentiles?

Are you saying the Messiah was not sent to the Gentiles?

When YHWH divorced the Northern Kingdom of Israel, He sent her away and scattered her among the Nations. But YHWH promised that He would gather her back to Himself and reunite the two Kingdoms into one. He fulfills that promise through the Messiah.

Yahushua was sent to restore the Kingdom of Israel, to be a light to the Gentiles and to bring salvation to the ends of the earth. Anyone who joins themselves to YHWH and to His Son become a part of that Kingdom. That is what the Scriptures teach.

In sending His Son to the lost sheep of Israel, YHWH is sending Him among the Gentiles to be a light unto them.

Isaiah 49:5-6

"And now YHWH says, Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, To bring Jacob back to Him, So that Israel is gathered to Him (For I shall be glorious in the eyes of YHWH, And My God shall be My strength), 6 Indeed He says, 'It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, That You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth.' "

His mission whist on earth was mostly to the Jews, but when the Holy Spirit was given to the first disciples and apostles Spirit inspired Paul and others to spread the Good News of God's forgiving love, mainly to the Gentiles. We must remember that Jesus, the Father, and Holy Spirit are just different manifestations to humans of the One Almighty God. God has revealed Himself, stage by stage in time.

God had carefully and strictly prepared a special people into which Jesus was born. The first missionaries that he prepared were his own local people - Jews. Jesus just had three years to do his work, it had to be limited geographically.

The first Christians were Jews, it was after Pentecost that God made clear the full understanding of the Gospel - that Jesus had suffered, died and was resurrected for the salvation of all mankind and all the world. Those who reject this message of love are excluded from God's free salvation.

God is God. There only is one God. Jesus is God - the one God.

Jesus was also the Jewish Messiah - sent to fulfil Jewish prophecy. Which he did. However, we do not have to be Jewish to follow Jesus, even though he was a Jew. Christians follow the teachings of lots of Jews - Moses, the Prophets, and so on. The Jewish Scripture is also Christian Scripture.

Jesus is the Son of God, and God - of both the Christians, and Jews. And, of Muslims too, as it happens.

You will note that Jesus agreed with the women in the verses following your quote:

26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”

28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.

So, Jesus came not just for the Jews after all, and this passage shows that.

Jesus *personal ministry* was to Israel. But that doesn't mean He wasn't the Savior of all. If He wasn't, He wouldn't have instructed His disciples to spread the Gospel to the whole world. What would be the point of sending the apostles out into the world to eventually be killed (all but John were executed), if the Gospel was only for Israel?

Jesus was sent to the Nation of Israel FIRST. After his death, resurrection and ascention to heaven it God's holy spirit made it evident that God was now turning his attention to the "people of the nations" .

The promise God gave to Abraham extended to people of "all nations would bless themselves" but it stated with the nation of Israel first. Since they as a nation rejected their Messiah it now went to the nations.

However, Jesus it NOT God, Jesus is God's Son. In the same way that the Nation of Israel became apostate from Bible teachings, the Christian congregation also did. Pure worship would be restored in the "finaly part of the days" according to Isaiah.

If you view John chapter 10 verse 16, you will see that he has other sheep (the gentiles).

But you imply something that destroys your own argument !!!!

Jesus Himself is not sent but He sends those who are sent.

Paul can't be mistaken because he remains a Jew even though following Jesus now, and he says that. And Jesus is not saying anything exclusive else the following makes no sense :

I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd. -- How does He bring them ? -- By sending those who are sent to those other sheep.

You argue not as a believer trying to understand but as a non-believer trying to not understand.

The apostle here tells us that all men are the creatures of God Almighty, and destined to eternal happiness. Neither was it necessary to be incorporated with the Jews by circumcision, to be made partakers of the justice of God. (Estius) When Paul asks if God is the God of both Jew and gentile he has the following in mind: If He had made salvation depend on the Mosaic law, the gentiles would be left out of salvation, and God would seem not to care for them, not to be their God. But actually, He did take care of them, providing justification by faith.

because Jesus was born on Earth to be the God Appointed King of Israel..... but the majority of The Nation of Israel rejected Jesus..... so God commissioned The True Church and appointed Jesus as it's Head.... The Body of The True Church consists of ALL those of The True Christian Faith.....Jews cocider all not of Israel to be Gentiles.... before The Church one had to become a part of The Nation of Israel to come to God.... with The Rejection of Jesus by Israel.... ALL who come to God in The Way He prescribes become a part of The True Church.... and only those of The True Church will enter Heaven........... there is one God... and He makes The Rules.... Jew or Gentile... it matters not.... you must come to Him as He prescribes....

Yes, this is a disturbing contradiction (apparent contradiction) that I have wrestled with in the past. You are the first person I have ever seen here who has made note of this...something which disturbed me greatly for a long time. Let's expand this situation here a little bit to include all that happened:

Matthew 15:22-29

New International Version (NIV)

22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”

24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.

I believe the answer is that Jesus was sent on purpose to fulfill the Laws of Moses and the Prophets of Israel. This was his primary task. Yet, it says in several places in the Laws of Moses, that Israel will not abuse foreigners.

4.Exodus 22:21

“Do not mistreat or oppress a foreigner, for you were foreigners in Egypt.

5.Exodus 23:9

“Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt.

7.Leviticus 19:34

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

12.Deuteronomy 10:19

And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.

There are more like this in the Bible.

So, to turn away the woman would have been to violate the very laws that God had directed of all Jews. Note, that Jesus, despite what he first did and said, ended up helping her.

I think, in long reflection on this contradiction, the point Jesus was making was NOT to not help the woman, but to make a pointed statement to his apostles, that his first duty was to help them. If Jesus had truly meant not to help the woman, he would have walked away and left her. IN THE END he did help her.

Secondly, you have to consider the broader context of Jesus' ministry. He sent his apostles out into the entire world saying to the effect, "Preach the gospel to the whole world, to everyone who will listen." The whole world is not just the people of Israel.

Third, consider that maybe Jesus was just having a bad day or it was a bad moment. After all, Jesus was a human being just like you and me, prone to having a bad day now or then. Remember, he was constantly followed by large crowds of sick and poor, all demanding that he help them. Maybe it was just a bad moment or Jesus was irritated or preoccupied at that moment, like WE ALL get. Please understand that even Jesus was a human being too. When you think of it in this light, it makes a lot more sense.
