Best place to get 2nd series of vaccinations for new kitten?

My friend acquired an 8 month old kitten that he had vaccinated with the 1st series of Distemper and Feline Leukemia and also had neutered in Chicago but couldn't keep him, so now I have him and I have 2 weeks to find a place to have little Lou receive his booster shots.

I'm new to having a kitten this young and I'm seeing that some places say I should have him vaccinated for FIV/FeLV and be Chipped and all these expensive sounding procedures and I'm not sure what is mandatory and what is just an up-sell.

Will taking him to a PetSmart or PetCo for the Distemper and Leukemia Booster be acceptable or will they try to push additional services?

Is the Distemper and Leukemia Booster all he needs?

Otherwise, he's perfectly healthy and happy and his neuter surgery is healing just fine.

Any advice for this first time kitten owner would be appreciated.

Update:

P.S. Sorry, I'm 2 hours out from Chicago, so I can't take him back to his original doctor.

There is NO need to be giving the FELV shots on indoor cats! Call your vet and ask if he needs another round of the normal "3 in 1" booster.

Do NOT be giving him any more FELV shots.
