Should I watch D.Gray-Man Anime?

I was wondering whether or not I should watch D. Gray Man. I know the manga got cancelled some time ago and I was wondering or not the anime actually has an ending or it just drops off.

So is it worth investing my time in this anime (it has 103 episodes so...)? Or will it just be a waste of time (like a terrible or virtually no ending)?

Eh...I suggest you watch an episode or two to make sure you won't like it but honestly I didn't really.

--The writing felt kind of simplistic and uninspired (you know you're not doing the best job when you have to have a character say out loud, "Wow, what a dark and mysterious guy" in a completely serious, not-meant-to-be funny way),.

--The characters were kind of cardboard and just felt like the usual anime archetypes. You've got your Ruroni Kenshin type protagonist, nice girl sidekick who's competent until the moment they need protagonist guy to do something heroic (then she's 100% useless), silly comic relief guy, and brooding dark super serious badass guy.

--And the plot didn't feel very new, nor was it really presented in an interesting way. It just kind of sets it up in classic, "endless" anime style: Here's the bad guys (who seemed to have a kinda dumb reason to be evil to me), here are the bad guys' monsters the main characters will fight all the time, and here's the reason they're fighting (some super powerful material called "innocence"). There were some interesting parts I guess but it wasn't too exciting. It just kinda felt like it was going through the motions. The main reason to watch it seemed to be cool weapons and fight scenes, but they didn't really seem all that amazing for the most part.

You might end up liking it I guess, but I definitely didn't. And considering how early the anime ended, I'm sure the ending was nothing very conclusive either. And when it's a hundred and three episodes long...

I watched about halfway through it by the way. Up to episode fifty something I think.

It wasn't the manga that got canceled it's just people can't translate it. I suggest do both. They both are the same really, the art is portrayed beautiful in the manga even if i do hate the author for being influenced by aliester crowley

I agree that you should try it out, however don't expect anything amazing because I also don't think that is very good. My main reason is because it doesn't have a good- clear plot, it seems to be aimed at children, and the fights are not even that good!

Source(s): I gave it a try and then dropped it after 12 eps
