Sometimes I feel like I "forget" to breathe. Is that normal?

Today for instance, I was sitting on the bus. I took deep breathe and I could just sort of feel that I hadn't taken a breath for a while. It sounds strange, I know. Kind of like how you would take a breath coming up from swimming underwater. It's not like I am out of breath, so to speak, just one mild gasp for air. I don't know how to better explain it. This also happens when I lie in bed at night or other times when I am calm/not physically active.

Has anyone else experienced this? Or do you know why it could be?

I had and it is because you are anxious somehow. try to come down and you will feel better. Also look for symptoms of Apnea. I know what you are going thru. Good luck
