    For the same sound level using the same speakers, it's not going to make any significant difference. For powered speakers the input is going to be high impedance and it's not going to take much current from the laptop headphone output either way.

    Turning the display off would help more - letting the screensaver shut it down instead of showing visual effects.

    Computer sound card consumes less electricity compare to speaker comes with high power amplifier. However, if both setting as you mention in your question produce the same level of output sound wave. There will be no difference at all on the total electricity consumption.

    It doesn't make any difference. In addition, the power of the just running the laptop will probably exceed the power of the speaker.
