Teens: Have you been to a Bar/Bat Mitzvah?

I was 16 when I went to my first one. It was for one of my sister's close friends. My mom and the friend's mom are close as well, so our whole family was invited. The ceremony was really interesting and the reception was a ton of fun!

No I haven't. Here in Australia there aren't many practicing Jews (I've met one in my whole life) and I attended a Catholic school so most people I know are either some form of Christian or irreligious. Bar/bat mitzvahs would happen but I've certainly never been to one.

Yes. My elementary school was in a primarily Jewish neighborhood and almost everyone had bar and bat mitzvahs. haha I only got invited to one though. this guy i was sort of friends with in the 7th grade invited me. it was pretty awesome, not gonna lie.

Unfortunately, no. I went to a predominantly African-American and Hispanic middle school and by the time I actually started meeting Jewish kids in high school, most of them had their's already. Woe is me. :( Haha.

No, I'm Catholic... Never met a Jewish person before. I guess I did once technically, but last I've heard they're now atheists. But yeah no.

Yes, more than a few. Main ones were my siblings' and mine.

Yeah, b'nai mitzvah tend to be a pretty big deal. My mom's family came to all of ours, from France.
