Escitalopram is the generic version of Lexapro meaning that the medication is the same, but a different company manufactures the actual pills. You could compare it to buying the store brand Stop and Shop sugar instead of the Domino brand sugar. This makes the price of the medication much less expensive, but you should not notice a difference in how you feel compared to the brand name Lexapro.
