Mold in houseplant soil?
I replanted a Chinese Evergreen from a plastic nursery pot to a bigger ceramic pot a couple months ago and it keeps getting white mold on top of the soil. I used miracle grow moisture control potting mix and added a little pearlite. It sits near a window. I let it nearly dry out between waterings and drain it at the basin so the saucer doesn't pool. The plant looks good otherwise.
Should I replant it without the pearlite or replant with cacti potting mix?

Are you sure it's mold? It could be salt deposits from the fertilizer.
Some potting mixes may cause this to happen due to stuff in the mix. The pearlite should have nothing to do with it. There may had been some mycelium in the soil and it is manifesting when you water. By allowing it to dry out between watering should help it to run it's course out. Scrape it off and discard when it happens to prevent it from reseeding.

If you have hard water (well water) it will get what looks like mold on top of soil...
