My Philosophy on reincarnation. Please give feedback guys.?
Hello guys,
I have studied basic hindu beliefs and put up a summary of reincarnation, the theory of one consciousness and my views on it.Please read the post and give me feedback on my views and if you agree. Thanks everyone.
Hello unknown,
Reincarnation's basic tenet is that we are all part of one soul experiencing itself subjectively and is bound to pleasure. There's no purpose in life @ all and evil is a necessary good(there's no good without evil). Now,do you still think that this could be true?
Thanks for the great response @Ave satanas

Reincarnation relies on the existence of a soul. Since there is no evidence that a soul exists (and if a soul does exist, it doesn't do anything), we can safely dismiss reincarnation as absurd.
With respect to your arguments:
1. "This belief could drive any average person to suicidal thoughts."
This has no effect on whether or not it is true.
2."God is a slave of pleasure and is chasing happiness 'never to find it'.It's an 'endless search'.Very depressing theory, this one"
The truth can be depressing. Wishful thinking is not a reason to believe or disbelieve.
3. "This God and all of us are controlled by some laws(No idea who framed them or how they work)and there is this endless wheel(just a metaphor)of reincarnation which runs on and on."
I can see why this would refute an omnipotent god, but not an impotent god.
4. "So,the laws are greater than God because they control that 'stupid' God himself/herself(gender neutral) and God is a slave of those laws.I should rather worship the laws themselves than some foolish God."
So God is not worthy of worship, that does not mean he doesn't exist.
5. "If you meditate through yoga and visualization(imagine Gods and Goddesses),you'll gain super powers(telekinesis, hear strange sounds,telepathy,out-of-the-body experiences, and gain supernatural powers). All gurus are believers of this, they are all GODS according to their belief."
An absurd belief, yes. But if you're going to dismiss this on the lack of evidence, why not dismiss reincarnation on the lack of evidence in the first place?
6. "Also, the lie that you need pain to experience happiness is exposed in that pain 'hurts' and it's better to only experience 'happiness' without increasing the effect of joy through pain."
I agree. There is no rationality to say pain is necessary for happiness.
P.S. I'm an atheist, but I'm just saying why some of your arguments aren't perfect.

Hi, Im a firm believer in Reincarnation although im not religious. Im a 19 year old Religion enthuiseist. My theory on reincarnation is hard to explain but here it goes:
Look at your surroundings through your eyes. Now imagine those surroundings as if you were looking through another persons eyes who is in the same area. Now I want you to think about this. What if when we die we come back to life or back into the world as someone different with no memory of who we were, none whatsoever but we are just seeing the world through the eyes of someone else or someone new. In thoery its all about perspective. If life has a cycle then shouldnt death? Thats the question my friend. Why should everything have a cycle but death?

If reincarnation is to be taken seriously then that what repeats itself over and over again, had had to start from something and you can call it creation or evolution or what ever, but it had to start some where.
And as reincarnation never speak of any beginning, it seems pretty foolish to me.
