Regarding the "afterlife", what are your thoughts on life after death?
by many people who report their "journeys into the afterlife" experiences documented in books & reports, like the one Dr. Eben Alexander (neurosurgeon) wrote and the 4 yr. old boy's experience - now a movie called "Heaven Is For Real".

Yes, there are documented, evidential cases for minimalistic life after death. http://www.salon.com/2012/04/21/near_death_explain... gives evidential cases of at least minimalistic life after death, specifically the Pam Reynolds case and the Maria case.
For example, Pam Reynolds, clinically dead, with her eyes covered, with no blood in her brain, was undergoing a rare, new operation, and after revived, was able to describe impressive details of the procedure and other associated facts that were beyond what her senses could access at that time. Here is the documentary:

The Maria documentary can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieViK3N4qzY&feature...
Michael Sabom, a cardiologist, investigates and documents near-death experiences and evidence of minimalistic life after death. His approach is scientific. He has books about these cases.
However, from these cases, we can only conclude that there is at least minimalistic life after death (i.e. naturalism is excluded). Which afterlife is correct? Is it the Hindu one? The Jewish one? The Islamic one? The Mormon one? Etc. We cannot answer this based on NDEs. Instead, we would have to evaluate the religions and determine which one is true.
For more information, here is video presentation on NDEs, given by Gary Habermas, expert on the historicity of Jesus, the Resurrection, and NDEs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOFAPtY_NmI
And here is a podcast on NDE, given by William Lane Craig, leading Christian philosopher and apologist. http://www.reasonablefaith.org/near-death-experien...

I'll wait for science to either catch up to or completely refute the anecdotes. In the meantime, I'll just get on with my life and keep my eyes and ears open.
