Questions about Golden Keys on Borderlands 2?

Ok, so I bought the Game of The Year Edition of Borderlands 2. I had a few characters built already and of course started a new one with the new dlc Characters. Every character I started or had and loaded got the Vault Hunter's Relic, Contraband Skyrocket Grenades, a set of Gearbox Guns, and a golden key. It also came with a prompt about the Natural Selection Annex being available.

My questions are...

1) Does every Character get their own Golden Key? (for example, I have an Assassin, Commando, and Psycho, if I open the Gold Chest with my Golden Key with my Assassin will my Psycho and Commando still have their respective golden key or is that one key for all characters on that profile?)

2) How do I get more Gold Keys? I meet people online and I've heard from 6 keys all the way up to 43 gold keys... How do I obtain more?

3) If I have two players in the game, do I need two gold keys to open the chest? For example, If my girlfriend and I each have a key, can we open the chest now at level 50 with one of our keys and then again at like 65 with the other person's key or does every player present have to provide a key?

    1. All of your characters share golden keys. For example if you have 50 keys and use one to open the chest for one of your characters , that character and the other characters will now have 49 keys.

    2. You can go on FB, and search "Borderlands 2 shift codes" , on there they post the codes to key codes for xbox,ps3,PC and their expiration date. If you have an iphone, ipad, ipod you can go on the App Store and search "Borderlands 2 Shift codes", it gives you all the codes for whatever you're playing the game on. It is a free app, but there is also a paid version. I don't know if the app is available on android phones.

I have 50 keys right now and I believe you can carry up to 200, but I'm not sure, somewhere around there.

3.if you have two players (or more) in the game you only need one key to open the chest. Even other players can grab the items in the chest that you opened. And yes you can open the chest now, and she can open the chest later.

1.) All characters on your account share golden keys.

2.) Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford gives away codes all the time on Twitter and from Facebook. The easier way would be to go the Borderlands 2 Wiki and search golden keys. They have a list of every code created so far, and a good chunk of them still work. Hurry though, they expire. (That's what i do, and i've had like 63 keys at once before)

3.) Nah, it only costs one key per person. If you and your girlfriend have separate key stashes, it will only take from the one who decides to open the box. Not like you cant share what comes out though.

    Hope this helps

    1.) I don't remember .-.

2.) There are things called "SHiFT" codes that developers sometimes release to the public, that contain a certain amount of keys. You can make a SHiFT account in the Borderlands 2 main menu, under the tab, Extras.

3.) 1 key = 1 unlock, no matter how many people are present.
